Log Home Restoration Manitoba

Manitoba Log Home and Cabin Restoration Services

At Frontier Log Home Restoration, we provide professional media blasting, staining, maintenance, repair, and full log home restoration services throughout Manitoba.

With over 25+ years of experience restoring log homes across Canada and the United States, we understand how Manitoba’s temperature extremes, freeze-thaw cycles, and moisture conditions impact log structures. Our restoration systems are tailored specifically to protect your investment in this environment.

Every project we complete falls into one — and often several — of our five primary service areas.

Media Blasting Log Homes

Surface preparation is the foundation of a successful restoration.

In Manitoba, fluctuating temperatures and moisture exposure often lead to stain failure and surface degradation. Our professional media blasting systems:

  • Remove failing coatings and old stain
  • Strip UV-damaged wood fibers
  • Eliminate mold, mildew, and contaminants
  • Prepare logs for proper stain absorption

Proper preparation ensures long-term coating performance and wood protection.

Log Home Staining

Manitoba’s intense seasonal shifts make proper stain selection critical.

We apply high-performance stain systems designed to:

  • Resist moisture intrusion
  • Protect against UV damage
  • Reduce cracking and checking
  • Extend the life of your log structure

Whether your property is a primary residence or seasonal cabin, proper staining is essential for long-term durability.

Log Home Maintenance in Manitoba

Routine maintenance prevents minor issues from becoming structural problems.

Our maintenance services include:

  • Cleaning and surface refreshes
  • Recoating and stain touch-ups
  • Sealant and caulking inspection
  • Early detection of moisture or rot concerns

Lakefront cabins and rural properties especially benefit from ongoing maintenance planning.

Log Home Repair

Harsh winters and moisture fluctuations can accelerate deterioration.

We provide professional repair services including:

  • Rot removal and wood restoration
  • Partial and full log replacement
  • Structural reinforcement
  • Insect and wildlife damage repair

Addressing these issues early protects the integrity and longevity of your home.

Full Log Home Restoration

When stain systems have completely failed or significant damage has occurred, a full restoration may be necessary.

This process may include:

  • Media blasting
  • Log repair and structural correction
  • Chinking and sealing
  • Complete staining and protective finishing

We handle projects ranging from private lake cabins to large timber residences.

Built for Manitoba’s Environment

Manitoba presents distinct environmental challenges:

  • Extended sub-zero winters
  • Heavy snow accumulation
  • Spring moisture saturation
  • High summer humidity
  • Strong UV exposure

Our restoration systems are designed to address these conditions directly, ensuring long-term protection and structural performance.

How many years experience you have?

Since 2000, we have restored, refurbished and protected hundreds of log and timber home structures across the US and Canada, in just about every setting imaginable. We restore between thirty to forty log structures every year. As a result of this experience and knowledge, we are able to provide our clients with an honest, easy and straight forward experience.

How do I know if my log house needs to be restored?

We look at the wood species, age and condition of the logs for signs of weather and UV damage as well as possible mold, mildew or rotting wood. Once a thurough review of the structure is completed, we will provide you with our unbiased, professional opinion, as to how to best protect your home as cost effectively as possible.

How much does it cost to restore a log home or cabin in Manitoba?

There is no simple answer. It will depend on the state of the existing logs and wood, the age and condition of the logs, the extent of any weather or UV damage as well as possible mold, mildew or rotting wood. We provide you and estimates free of charge. In many cases this can be done by submitting high quality photos of the building or structure.
