British Columbia Log Home Restoration
For over two decades, we’ve restored log homes, cabins, chalets, panabodes, and timber structures throughout Western Canada and the United States. In British Columbia, our approach is always tailored to the local environment and the specific condition of your home.
Our Core Log Home Services in British Columbia
At Frontier Log Home Restoration, we provide professional media blasting, staining, maintenance, repair, and full restoration services across the province.
For over two decades, we’ve restored log homes, cabins, chalets, panabodes, and timber structures throughout Western Canada and the United States. In British Columbia, our approach is always tailored to the local environment and the specific condition of your home.
We focus on five primary service areas. Every project falls into one — or often several — of these categories.
Media Blasting Log Homes
Proper surface preparation is the foundation of any successful log home restoration.
We use professional-grade media blasting systems to:
- Remove failing stain and coatings
- Eliminate UV-damaged wood fibers
- Strip mildew, mold, and contaminants
- Prepare surfaces for proper stain absorption
Media blasting is often required in BC due to heavy moisture exposure and repeated coating failure, especially in coastal and high-precipitation regions.
Log Home Staining and Sealing
British Columbia’s intense UV exposure and wet seasons make stain performance critical.
We apply high-quality stains and protective coatings designed to:
- Penetrate and protect wood fibers
- Resist moisture intrusion
- Reduce UV degradation
- Extend the life of your log structure
Whether your home is in Whistler, Kelowna, Prince George, or Vancouver Island, the right stain system makes all the difference.
Log Home Maintenance
Regular maintenance prevents small issues from becoming major structural problems.
Our maintenance services include:
- Cleaning and surface refreshes
- Recoating and stain touch-ups
- Caulking and sealant inspection
- Preventative moisture management
BC’s climate demands ongoing upkeep, especially in areas with prolonged wet seasons or high snowfall.
Log Home Repair
Over time, logs can crack, rot, check, or suffer insect damage.
We provide professional repair services including:
- Log replacement and partial log repair
- Rot removal and wood restoration
- Structural stabilization
- Insect and woodpecker damage repair
Interior mountain regions and northern BC communities often see accelerated deterioration due to snow retention and freeze-thaw movement.
Full Log Home Restoration
When a log home has experienced years of neglect or severe coating failure, a full restoration may be required.
This typically includes:
- Media blasting
- Log repair and structural corrections
- Chinking and sealing
- Complete staining and protective finishing
Our team handles projects of all sizes — from private cabins to large timber lodges and resort properties.

- Interior regions experience high UV and dry heat.

Frequently Asked Questions?
How many years experience you have?
Since 2000, we have restored, refurbished and protected hundreds of log and timber home structures across the US and Canada, in just about every setting imaginable. We restore between thirty to forty log structures every year. As a result of this experience and knowledge, we are able to provide our clients with an honest, easy and straight forward experience.
How do I know if my log house needs to be restored?
We look at the wood species, age and condition of the logs for signs of weather and UV damage as well as possible mold, mildew or rotting wood. Once a thurough review of the structure is completed, we will provide you with our unbiased, professional opinion, as to how to best protect your home as cost effectively as possible.
How much does it cost to restore a log home or cabin in British Columbia?
There is no simple answer. It will depend on the state of the existing logs and wood, the age and condition of the logs, the extent of any weather or UV damage as well as possible mold, mildew or rotting wood. We provide you and estimates free of charge. In many cases this can be done by submitting high quality photos of the building or structure.
