Alberta Log Home Restoration, Maintenance and Repair
From the Rockies to the northern forests, Alberta’s climate is tough on wood. Intense UV exposure, heavy snow loads, freeze-thaw cycles, and dry summer heat all accelerate wear on log homes, cabins, chalets, and timber structures. Our systems are designed specifically for these Western Canadian conditions.

Our team understands the unique construction styles common throughout Alberta’s mountain and recreation regions. Whether your home sits in a high-altitude alpine setting or on a rural acreage in the foothills, we tailor our restoration process to your environment.
Areas in Alberta We Commonly Serve
Alberta has some of the highest concentrations of log homes and chalet-style builds in Western Canada, particularly in mountain and recreation communities. Frontier frequently works in and travels to areas such as:
Bow Valley & Rocky Mountain Communities
- Canmore
- Banff
- Jasper
- Hinton
- Kananaskis
These regions are known for their chalet-style homes, vacation cabins, and luxury log residences exposed to extreme UV, snow, and moisture conditions.
Foothills & Acreage Communities
- Bragg Creek
- Cochrane
- Sundre
- Rocky Mountain House
These areas feature a high number of custom log homes, rural timber builds, and recreational properties where maintenance and refinishing are critical to long-term durability.
Northern & Remote Mountain Regions
- Nordegg
- Grande Cache
- Surrounding West Country communities
Cabins and remote log properties in these regions require specialized logistics, equipment transport, and restoration planning — all of which our team is experienced in handling.
If your home is located elsewhere in Alberta, we still want to hear from you. We travel extensively and bring our full restoration systems directly to your property.

Frequently Asked Questions?
How many years experience you have?
Since 2000, we have restored, refurbished and protected hundreds of log and timber home structures across the US and Canada, in just about every setting imaginable. We restore between thirty to forty log structures every year. As a result of this experience and knowledge, we are able to provide our clients with an honest, easy and straight forward experience.
How do I know if my log house needs to be restored?
We look at the wood species, age and condition of the logs for signs of weather and UV damage as well as possible mold, mildew or rotting wood. Once a thurough review of the structure is completed, we will provide you with our unbiased, professional opinion, as to how to best protect your home as cost effectively as possible.
How much does it cost to restore a log home or cabin in Alberta?
There is no simple answer. It will depend on the state of the existing logs and wood, the age and condition of the logs, the extent of any weather or UV damage as well as possible mold, mildew or rotting wood.
